4-H Day at the Capitol is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the positive impacts 4-H has had on Wisconsin over the last 100 years and strengthen the relationship between Wisconsin 4-H and its important partners in the state government. We look forward to bringing as many 4-H members, volunteers, staff, alumni, partners and friends as possible to Madison to tell their stories and connect with legislators.
Here’s the agenda for delegates planning to visit Madison on March 19:
- 9:30 a.m. – Registration at the Concourse Hotel
- 10 a.m. – Kick-off speakers
- Preparation for songs and rally
- Training and practice for visits
- Lunch served during training starting at 11 a.m.
- 11:45 a.m. – walk to the Capitol
- 12-12:30 p.m.– Rotunda Rally and Group Photo!
- 12:45 to 4:15 p.m. – Legislative Visits
Scheduling Legislative Visits
We have asked 4-H staff around the state to serve as Legislative Visit Team Captains and coordinate visits for all delegations coming from their legislative districts. Take a look at these lists to find the team captain you’ll need to work with to schedule visits for each legislator:
You can find your legislator here.
Take a look at the “Scheduling Legislative Visits” webinar presentation or listen to the archived recording for more tools and tips on scheduling legislative visits.
Once visits have been scheduled, each team captain should enter visit information in this UW-Extension database.
Preparing for Legislative Visits
Take a look at the “Preparing for your Legislative Visits” PowerPoint or watch the archived recording for more information and tips on researching and preparing for your legislative visits and what to expect on March 19.
