2017 Summer Affirmative Action Intern Program (SAAIP)

SAAIP imageThe Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (OEDI) is pleased to announce that UW-Extension will participate in the 2017 Summer Affirmative Action Intern Program (SAAIP), offered in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Personnel Management (DPM). SAAIP is designed to recruit college students from underrepresented groups for summer employment that will expose them to new experiences and potential career paths within our institution. We encourage colleagues who can provide internship opportunities to apply. These internships are an excellent opportunity for us to gain new perspectives and insights from our interns and increase their exposure to Cooperative Extension.

SAAIP utilizes a shared support model, with 50% funding from the chancellor’s office and 50% through the hiring authority. There are limited funds available from the CES Dean’s office to help cover the hiring authority’s portion of the cost. The hiring authority develops a student internship position description, conducts targeted outreach efforts and marketing, evaluates the candidates, and selects the final candidate.

Visit the OEDI website for more information, including an online application form.  Applications are due by Wednesday, November 28, 2016.
