Moving Beyond Translation: Integrating Language Access into Program Planning.

Colleagues,

On October 26, 2015 Diana Tscheschlok and I facilitated a webinar for eXtension’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Community of Practice (DEI CoP): “Moving Beyond Translation: Integrating Language Access into Program Planning.” If you were unable to attend and you would like to learn more, please view the recording.  After you have watched the recording or if you attended live, please take 5-10 minutes to complete the post-webinar evaluation also found at this link:   https://learn.extension.org/events/2286#.VjeXW02FO70 .   The PowerPoint for the webinar is very similar to the one we used during our session at last week’s State Conference (https://blogs.extension.wisc.edu/stateconference/session/incorporating-translation-and-interpretation-into-program-planning/ ).

The DEI CoP’s next webinar, November 23, at 2 pm CST on interpretation will be a nice follow up to our webinar on translation. Betty García Mathewson, Project Director for Opening Doors Diversity Project will present “Strategies for Effectively Communicating through an Interpreter”.  More information about the webinar, including registration information, can be found here: https://learn.extension.org/events/2347#.VkScak2FO70 .
