March 31 Deadlines: Recording Results, Outside Activity Reports and Plans of Work

From the Desk of Eric Schuck, Educational Application Support Specialist, Educational Technology Support, a.k.a. Mr. Help Desk.

The following are due on March 31:

  • Recording Results
  • Outside Activity Reports
  • Plans of Work

Recording Results

Recording Results is new and improved for 2018! This includes a new platform, a new login method and quarterly deadlines.

WHAT THIS MEANS: Going to the page you bookmarked in January will not work. Logging in with your Cooperative Extension email and password will not work.

You will need to go to https://wices.knack.com/recording#home/ and log in with your CES Google Account (also known as MCN Account). And even though they look identical, your CES email and your CES Google account are not one and the same. If you don’t have a MCN account you can request one here.  If you can’t remember if you have one or are certain that you have an existing account but just can’t remember the password, please contact the Cooperative Extension Help Desk.

I CAN LOG IN, BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. Don’t worry! There is help. The new Recording Results site has help articles and videos that cover Access Records and Participation records as well as many other topics. Click on the Help section of the main menu.

I HAVE QUESTIONS THAT CAN’T BE ANSWERED BY WATCHING A VIDEO. You are in luck! If you want to talk to a real live person, the Recording Results team is holding office hours via Google hangout on Thursday, March 22, 10:30-11:30.  (Hey, that’s a week before the due date! That’s pretty handy!)

Just in case you forgot The minimum requirement for those involved in educational programming is that you submit your quarterly participation records. You may also submit an outcome statement to meet the requirements for one outcome statement by June 30.

Outside Activity Reports

“Never depend on single income, make investment to create a second source.” —Warren Buffet.

If you are taking this adage to heart and you are using the same skills you use at Extension to do so, you need to report it.

Per Wisconsin Administrative Code and UW System Board of Regents Policy, “All UW System faculty, academic staff, and limited appointees with 50% or greater appointments are required to annually report outside activities or interests related to their areas of professional responsibility and for which they receive remuneration.”

Forms need to be turned in by March 31, 2018 to  Patty Kulinski, 432 N. Lake Street or e-mail Patty Kulinski.

Plans of Work

You may remember this graph from Dean Martin’s Feb. 16 email.

As you can see, we have almost reached the second dot.

Tons of information and links can be found in the Plan of Work Resource Center  section of the Program Development and Evaluation website: https://fyi.extension.wisc.edu/programdevelopment/. Each programming area has coaches; if you are unsure who yours is, please contact your Interim Program Leader.
