Wisconsin Joint Council of Extension Professionals

We teach, learn, lead and serve, connecting people with the University of Wisconsin, and engaging with them in transforming lives and communities.

JCEP Wisconsin is a partnership of professional Extension organizations that focuses on strengthening the efforts of the member organizations and does what each cannot do individually. The members are: WI Association of County Agricultural Agents (WACAA), WI Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals (WAE4-HYDP), WI Extension Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (WEAFCS), WI Extension Environmental & Community Development Association (WEECDA), and Wisconsin Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP).

  • Membership in Wisconsin JCEP is open to current and retired employees of the University of Wisconsin Extension and includes affiliation with one or more of the five member associations: WAE4-HYDP, WEAFCS, WACAA, WEECDA, and ESP.
  • The work of Wisconsin JCEP is driven by the leadership and collaboration of its Board of Directors and dedicated committee members, who play a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission and initiatives.

The Mission of Wisconsin JCEP: To provide a unified voice which addresses the associations’ issues and concerns, and creates opportunities for interdisciplinary teamwork and networking.

The Vision of Wisconsin JCEP: To improve and strengthen the avenues of communication between Extension professionals, faculty and administrators; and to foster cooperation among Extension professional association members.

What is the mission and vision of JCEP-WI?

Mission: To provide a unified voice addressing the concerns of member associations and to create opportunities for interdisciplinary teamwork and networking.

Vision: To improve and strengthen communication among Extension professionals, faculty, and administrators, while fostering cooperation among association members. JCEP-WI supports the Extension mission of outreach scholarship.

Membership is open to all paid members of the following professional associations:

WAE4-HYDP (4-H Youth Development)

WACAA (County Agricultural Agents)

WEECDA (Environmental and Community Development)

What is the structure of the JCEP-WI Executive Board?

The Executive Board consists of three representatives from each of the five member associations. Representatives serve staggered terms of one, two, or three years initially, followed by standard three-year terms.

How are officers selected and what are their roles?

Officers include a Chairperson, Chairperson-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. They are elected by the Executive Board and serve terms ranging from one to two years. Officers also serve on the Executive Committee and help guide the organization’s operations.

How often does the Executive Board meet?

The Executive Board meets at least twice annually, with additional meetings scheduled as needed to conduct JCEP-WI business.

What happens if a board or officer position becomes vacant?

Vacancies on the Executive Board are filled by the respective association. Officer vacancies are filled by appointment from within the Executive Board to complete the unexpired term.

What happens to JCEP-WI assets if the organization disbands?

If JCEP-WI disbands, its assets will be distributed to a worthy cause as determined by the Executive Board.
