The youth learned self discovery, to define the needs of others, learned about livestock projects, teamwork, confidence, time management, organization, collaboration, public speaking skills, and tools of assessment.

Group: Iowa County 4-H Ambassadors
Date of Activity: July 19, 2013
Number of people: 25 youth; 3 adults
Number of hours: 20 hours
The Iowa County 4-H Ambassadors are led by a group of their peers called the “H-Team”. The young woman that was the “Health” leader of the H-Team conceived the idea for a “4K” Clover Run. The Ambassadors hoped that the Clover Run could become an annual event that the Iowa County 4-H Ambassador could lead and organize. The Clover Run was planned and organized by the “Health” leader and her mother. The Iowa County 4-H Ambassadors assisted on the day of the Clover Run and provided the man power needed to make the run a success.
90 people registered for the Clover Run. The run was successful and provided an opportunity for community members to improve their health; which was the objective of the run organizers. Money was raised from the run and $300 was donated to the Dodgeville Community Connections Free Clinic. By donating money to the free clinic the Iowa County 4-H Ambassadors were able to further pass on the benefits of healthy living.
The Iowa County 4-H Ambassadors learned that it was a lot of work to organize an event the size and scope of the Clover Run! The Ambassadors felt rewarded by the experience and received much positive feedback from the community.
