Hundenruhe Haven Dog Sanctuary was founded in 2005 and takes in dogs under 25 pounds that are aging, handicapped, or have a medical condition that makes them unadoptable. The Clarks Mills Good Sports 4-H club in Manitowoc County collected and made items to help the dog rescue fulfill its mission.

Over 350 pillowcase dresses were constructed by 4-H members, leaders, and HCE members in Manitowoc County. Local thrift shops and families donated pillowcases, thread and notions to make dresses. These dresses will be delivered to orphan girls in villages across the continent of Africa by local missionary groups from Manitowoc County.

More service activities by the Clarks Mills Good Sports 4-H Club in Manitowoc County, including a boxed lunch auction to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, a Red Cross Blood Drive and a food drive for the Faith Lutheran Church Community Food Pantry.

Service is an important component of every 4-H experience. In Manitowoc County, the Clarks Mills Good Sports 4-H Club takes service very seriously, completing several projects every year. Cleaning up more than two miles of Manitowoc County highway and making holiday cards for for military service men and women, veterans, and their families are just a couple ways they contribute to their local and national communities.
