Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development staff, volunteers, friends and supporters enjoyed a wonderful day at the Wisconsin State Fair on Tuesday, August 5. Thousands of Wisconsin State Fair guests visited the Central Park to experience hands-on 4-H and UW-Extension activities and celebrate 100 years of growing Wisconsin leaders!
Visitors learned about exercise and healthy beverage choice on the bike-powered blender; mapped civic engagement around the state; experienced all the steps in bringing an animal to market; identified animal tracks; met live reptiles and amphibians; unearthed worms while learning about vermicomposting; created seed art; programmed robots and explored the skies at the STEM booth; and more! Six Wisconsin 4-H performing arts groups wowed the crowds with their original performances, and hundreds of visitors left happy birthday messages on a graffiti wall. At 2:30, a sea of green gathered and walked in the Wisconsin State Fair parade, sharing their 4-H pride with all the guests in State Fair Park.
Thank you so much to everyone who planned, organized, staffed and attended Wisconsin 4-H Day at the Wisconsin State Fair! If you were not able to attend, take a look at our Facebook album and watch the news stories from CBS 58 and FOX6 to get a little bit of the 4-H Day flavor!
