Activity: Holiday caroling for Fond du Lac community

Number of hours: 2 hours per person

Sonshine 4-H Club members sang holiday carols to nursing home residents and others in the community. Carolers left each household a plate of homemade cookies, too. Everyone on the caroling route was extremely grateful — some even cried, they were so touched! It didn’t hurt to leave them with the treat of cookies, either.

Youth and adults were reminded that it can be better to give than receive around the holidays. All those involved interacted with the people who were visited, and participated in the cookie project, too. To see how touched others were was truly humbling and rewarding, and made the club want to reach out in this way again.
