County Educator Vacancy Postings:
Area Extension Directors (AEDs) continue to work through the hiring process for filling over 40 priority vacancies through our two main waves of hiring for county educators this winter. Fifteen of the positions have been filled and our new educators start between January and March of 2018. Twenty-eight positions are in other stages of the hiring process. Below are the county-based educator and coordinator positions that are currently posted.

- Patrick Proden will join Cooperative Extension on April 16 as the new Associate Dean of Operations and Policy. In that position, Poden will direct Extension’s strategic, operational and financial planning processes. The Northern Wisconsin native brings extensive experience and a national reputation in urban Extension programming and building partnerships. Poden has served as the Regional Director for Oregon State University, Division of Outreach and Engagement, Portland Metropolitan Region for the past eight years. In that role, he had oversight and primary responsibility for staff and volunteer management in six core Extension programs and was responsible for executive and organizational leadership, finances and external partnerships and communication. Prior to that role, Proden served for six years as the county director for the United States Peace Corps in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where he directed all aspects of agency operations and program support. Additional experiences include acting as the Workforce Development Director for Ilisagvik College in Alaska, where he directed adult distance education and workforce development, working closely with Inupiat Native Alaskan communities, and serving for two years as the Education Program Manager for the North Slope Borough School District in Alaska. Mr. Proden has a Masters of Arts in Education from Towson University.
