Activity: Making toys for the Iowa County Humane Society

Group: Coon Rock 4-H Club — Iowa County

Number of people: 8 youth; 3 adults

We made cat toys and donated them to the Iowa County Humane Society. We also donated $50. The ICHS was very grateful for the cat toys. They gave the cats a positive enrichment experience that offered both mental and physical stimuli. The money also helped ICHS purchase needed supplies to care for the animals waiting for adoption.

The youth learned to sew on sewing machines. They also learned to use creative thinking and problem-solving to make  sturdy and engaging toy. They delivered the toys and got to see and play with the cats.
